Thousands of wines were submitted and judgment was passed. Safe to say we fared pretty well with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. Now that the professional judging portion is over it's time to get the public involved. Many of the wineries, including Terra Savia of course, will be pouring their award winning wines from all over the country to the general public for you to enjoy and scrutinize away. It's time to see if the Gold Medals are worth their weight in hype.
The Chronicle competition is the largest wine competition in the world. At this event there will be over 300 wineries so if you're searching for a perfect Tempranillo or want to find some great Pinot Noir from the Pacific Northwest, this is a great place to try. There's also a lot of hype, speculation, and misunderstanding when it comes to organic wines so this will also be the time and place to talk to the winemakers themselves and find out what they have to say. This event is a guaranteed sellout so get your tickets now.
The event takes place on Saturday, February 19th, 2011 at Fort Mason

Organic Wines and "Fish." A Winning Combination
| Click on logo to go to Fish. website |
Mark your calenders for February 24th, 2011. Winemaker Jim Milone will be pouring Terra Savia Organic wines at Fish. restaurant in the beautiful seaside town of Sausalito, California. He'll be pouring the gold medal-winning 2009 Organic Chardonnay along with the 2006 Organic Meritage and the freshly released 2007 Organic Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine. All of our wines are made with certified-organic grapes in our small vineyard in Hopland, Mendocino County, CA. Winemaker dinners are one of the best ways to make that special connection with the wine you're enjoying and the individual(s) who crafted it. They're also a great way to get exposed and get to know some great new wines.
Fish. is a wonderful establishment specializing in sustainable seafood caught off the California coast. They only organic, local SF Bay Area produce as well. Needless to say, they know a thing or two about cooking up some excellent seafood dishes, Portuguese Red Chowder, anyone? The sound of that makes a glass of that Meritage sound that much better. If you are unable to attend the wine maker dinner on February 24th, please check them out anyways.
