The Olive Oil Times recently published an article about European olive oil companies buying California oil to market and sell across The Pond. There have been some issues with quality control, labeling, and pricing with some Old World producers thus creating a European demand for the high quality oil California is becoming known for. California has many smaller producers who maintain strict quality control standards over their product. These latest moves are coming from countries where olive oil has been a way of life at the dining table for centuries so this represents a massive opportunity for the New World to put its phenomenal oil on the map along side its wines.
